Who is Fancy Nancy?
Fancy Nancy is a character in a book written by Jane O'Connor. She believes that "more is always better!" Nancy is a itsybitsy girl who loves fancy things...clothes, shoes, ice cream, words, hair ornaments along with a tiara and the French language...because it sounds so fancy! Nancy even says "bonjour" when she greets someone. That's French for hello.
There are over a dozen books out, so if you and your daughter have not read them, you have some catching up to do. In these books Nancy shares her love of fancy things with most everybody she meets. And she keeps advent up with new words to retell every day things.

What words? She found out that broad was someone else way to say great! Two words mean the same as beautiful, they are beautiful and glamorous. A parasol sounds so much nicer than an umbrella, doesn't it? Well, to Nancy it does. In her book "Favorite Fancy Words Accessories to Zany", you will find out lots of words that are understated! (understated means plain) Your vocabulary, (that means all the words you know) will grow immensely. (that one means a lot!). This fun book will not only growth the words you know, it will make studying the new words fun.
Words are not the only thing that Nancy enjoys. She likes her special sparkly shoes, her tiara in her hair and she loves Tea Parties! Honestly, it's right in the book, "Nancy Loves, Loves, Loves", it's a stamp book that your daughter will love too.
Would your itsybitsy girl like a tea party too? ask everybody to a special tea party, dressed in their finest clothes...what a nice party theme for a itsybitsy girl birthday party theme. With Fancy Nancy and her helpful ideas you can have the best tea party ever! There are Fancy Nancy party supplies and even a party pinata with her photo on it. For a tea party finger foods are the best...mini desserts and finger sandwiches, which is a regular sandwich cut into four pieces so they are small. You can also serve fruit and cheese and crackers. Put out itsybitsy party picks for your itsybitsy guests to pick up the fruit and cheese with. That will seem quite elegant to them, don't you think?
A nice tea party action is to make a hat. Years ago, when ladies were invited to a tea party, they put on their best hats! You can get all scraps of material, lace, ribbons and silk flowers for the girls to use in decorating their paper plates! Punch a hole in two sides of the plate and tie some ribbon in it. That will be the tie so the hats will stay on the girls heads. Then, of course, you are going to have to have a fashion show to show off the lovely hats!
